Bio

Ben Messina is a Australian Landscape and Nature photographer based in Brisbane Australia. His ability to capture inspiring imagery originates from the beauty that surrounded him whilst growing up in Cairns, Far North Queensland.

Wanting to share the picturesque landscape, Ben began his photographic journey. From the age of ten, he captured his first images on a Pentax K1000, using Black and White film. Being the son of an established, professional photographer, he was fortunate enough to have his fathers experience and a fully functioning Black and White darkroom at his fingertips. Ben turned professional at the age of eighteen, capturing everything from cutting edge commercial photography through to portraiture.

However, his true passion has always been for landscape, beauty waiting to be captured…  Concentrating on gathering a collection over many years, his talent has flared with time.

Ben took the courageous step of opening his first gallery in Cairns, in 2004. It was so successful that he now has work displayed in private and corporate collections all over the world. With the phenomenal response to his first gallery, Ben expanded to Brisbane, where he opened a gallery, named Gallery M in the heritage-listed Brisbane Arcade. In 2009 Ben has now decided to concentrate on his online sales and increasing his collection.

Ben's images are available in editions of 100, 200 and 450 and are printed on the finest archival photographic materials available. All images appreciate in value as the editions sell out.

Ben’s collection of panoramic images have heart, emotion and amazing depth. And his journey continues. . .

Seb Messina is a photographer who’s passion is the expression of beauty through the art of photography.

Seb was born in Cairns and lived most of his life in tropical North Queensland. As a youth he spent a lot of time exploring the tropical rainforest and appreciating the beauty of natures handiwork. He has had a lifelong association with photography, first from the age of twelve as a hobby, then as a working professional.

For many years Seb operated as a commercial photographer but his true calling has always been to capture the beauty of nature and the landscape. Gallery M has finally brought Seb’s lifelong goal to fruition, with his photographs hanging beside the work of his talented son Ben.

As a landscape photographer Seb draws from an ability to see an obscure composition, skillfully capture it and then produce an exceptional piece of photographic art.

He believes that if his photographic art instills a passion about our planet and nature in others, this in itself is a fantastic reward.

For Seb the transition to landscape and nature photography has been a wonderful journey of development and discovery. As he continues to travel and photograph our beautiful planet Earth his passion grows.

Tony Middleton got his first camera as a 9yr old for Christmas in the middle of the 1982-83 drought. It was thunderstorms at the end of this drought that had him captivated, each time his mother would get the roll of film processed she could not understand why they would all be of these stormy skies and not subjects that other people would photograph.

After countless adventures all over Australia and abroad it is this passion for the elements, nature and the environment that inspires him. Experiencing and photographing these wild places during unique conditions and understanding them is what is so strong in his work to this day.
