Invitational artist Tony Middleton has just returned from the Victorian high country, we will be featuring his amazing new images over the coming days. Here's what he had to say about his journey:

I took advantage of the long w/e to get around the high country of the Victorian alps before the seasonal road closures were enforced. My trusty old Toyota 4WD got put to some good use getting in and out and over a lot of the high country through mud snow and rocky tracks. I camped out on the high plains amidst the snow and along river valleys to experience and capture some of this magnificent alpine country was most memorable. Sometimes 'that special light' we all dream of as photographers does not occur in fact I did not even see the sun for the entire 3.5 days!  But this brought new opportunities to the fore new moods and ambiance to scenes that in such conditions many would not venture out in yet alone to photograph. These few images are a sample of some of the special places and moments I experienced on this short getaway.
