As a youth he spent a lot of time exploring
the tropical rainforest and appreciating the beauty of natures handiwork.
He has had a lifelong association with photography, first from the age
of twelve as a hobby, then as a working professional.
For many years Seb operated as a commercial photographer
but his true calling has always been to capture the beauty of nature
and the landscape. Gallery M has finally brought Seb's lifelong
goal to fruition, with his photographs hanging beside the work of his
talented son Ben.
As a landscape photographer Seb draws from an ability to
see an obscure composition, skillfully capture it and then produce an
exceptional piece of photographic art.
Seb has a connection with the earth and has an appreciation
for the majesty of nature. It is this connection that allows him to cherish
our unique land and the beauty in every day. He believes that if his
photographic art instills a passion about our planet and nature in others,
this in itself is a fantastic reward.
For Seb the transition to landscape and nature photography
has been a wonderful journey of development and discovery. As he continues
to travel and photograph our beautiful planet Earth his passion grows. |
Wanting to share the picturesque landscape, Ben began his
photographic journey. From the age of ten, he captured his first images
on a Pentax K1000, using Black and White film. Being the son of an established,
professional photographer, he was fortunate enough to have his fathers
experience and a fully functioning Black and White darkroom at his fingertips.
Ben turned professional at the age of eighteen, capturing everything from
cutting edge commercial photography through to portraiture.
However, his true passion has always been for landscape, beauty waiting
to be captured…
Concentrating on gathering a collection over many years, his talent has
flared with time.
Ben took the courageous step of opening his first gallery in Cairns,
in 2004. It was so successful that he now has work displayed in private
and corporate collections all over the world. With the phenomenal response
to his first gallery, Ben has now expanded to Brisbane, recently opening
his second gallery,
named Gallery M in the heritage-listed Brisbane Arcade.
Ben's images are available in editions of 100, 200 and 450 and are printed
on the finest archival photographic materials available. All images appreciate
in value as the editions sell out.
Ben’s collection of panoramic images have, heart, emotion and
amazing depth. And his journey continues… |
